The City of Orlando's largest community park, Bill Frederick Park spans an impressive one hundred and seventy eight acres. Located on the quiet shores of Turkey Lake, the park provides numerous amenities and activities. Bill Frederick Park is conveniently located near the Florida Turnpike, area shopping, Orlando Theme Parks, and is just a short drive from some of the finest Dr. Phillips Real Estate and Windermere, FL Real Estate in the area.
First opened to the public in 1978, the park originally had a producing orange grove with over 2000 orange trees. In 1980 plans were in place to develop a campground facility on the grounds. The orange trees were successfully relocated, and the campground was opened in 1981.
The Bill Frederick Campground offers cabin rentals, spacious areas for tent camping, and 36 recreational vehicle campsites.
