Windermere FloridaWindermere MemorialQuietly resting behind the Windermere Town Hall Building, you will find the Windermere September 11th Memorial. Standing 8 feet tall, the 650 pound piece of steel was cut from an actual structural beam of the World Trade Center.

Ninety hand-painted, glazed ceramic tiles border the black granite memorial. The tiles commemorate each of the 90 countries that lost innocent citizens in the attacks of the Twin Towers. Each tile was hand painted by Eagle Scouts across the Central Florida area. 

The September 11th Memorial peacefully honors the loss of nearly 3,000 brave men and women; including the many fire rescue, police, and first responders who risked their lives while helping other victims.

Historic Windermere School HouseThe historic 1890 Windermere Schoolhouse, located at 113 West Seventh Avenue,  Windermere, FL in the 34786 zip code, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. Also known as the Armstrong Parramore House, the schoolhouse was built in 1890, renovated around the year 2000, and is the oldest historical site in Windermere.

The building served the community as a schoolhouse until 1916. The structure was also utilized as a community center, holding social and religious events, as well as a voting center and meeting place for the Town of Windermere Woman's Club.

In 1995, the schoolhouse structure and land was donated to the Town of Windermere by Manuel "Perry" & Eunice Armstong Parramore. Today, the schoolhouse remains situated on the

The Town of  Windermere Town LogoThe Town of Windermere "Among the Lakes", is well known for its beautifully scenic chain of lakes and prestigious lakefront real estate. Have you ever wondered about the meaning of the Town Logo? The design of Windermere's Town Logo was actually based on inspiration from the Town of Windermere, England. The logo is a crest, divided into four symbolic pictures; thus resembling a coat of arms. 

The top left quarter of the Windermere crest reflects three Windermere class yachts.
