Windermere, FL Gas StationYes, it IS true! Finally, construction is in progress on the brand new 7-11 Gas Station. The gas station will join Publix, Chase Bank, McDonalds (and more) at the Lakeside Village Shopping Center on County Road 535 & Reams Road. This new development will be a big relief for residents living on the south side of Windermere, including the communities of Keene's Pointe, Glenmuir, Casa Del Lago, Oxford Moor, and Waterstone.

Windermere residents are fortunate to have an abundance of everything from theme parks, to world class shopping, endless options for dining (from fast food to fine dining), and community events right in our own backyard. However, even with the new 7-11, the area is still strained for available gas stations. How many times have you found yourself driving through town, with your gas tank quickly approaching empty? Most of us are too familiar with that feeling of urgency, and then have to turn around toward the outskirts of town, to fill up the tank.

Town of Windermere Historical Fun Fact

In the 1920's, on the northeast corner of Second Avenue & Main Street, you would have found - yep, you guessed it - A GAS STATION!!! The Seidner family owned and operated the town gas station and offered gas for about 20 cents per gallon. In the late 1930's, the Parramore family purchased a large lot of land, and later built another gas station on the east side of Main Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. The gas station built by the Parramore family changed hands a few times, but remained in business until 1990. At which time Don Dizney purchased the land and constructed the building that now houses the United Medical Corporation.
